Ini dibuat dengan tangan oleh Leah Selei dan kelompoknya. Ia membawahi 27 perempuan dari lingkaran pembuatan manik-manik di desanya di Ngong’. Mereka membuat sebagian besar aksesori tetesan air mata kami. Mereka adalah para ibu dan nenek. Hasil penjualan dibagikan di antara para perempuan tersebut untuk membantu memenuhi kebutuhan dasar keluarga mereka.
The craftsmanship is truly something special—you can feel the care in every bead, knowing these were made by a circle of mothers and grandmothers. They’ve got a nice weight to them that feels substantial without pulling on my ears, and the teardrop shape catches the light beautifully.
I was a little worried the beads might feel cheap, but the teardrop shape has a lovely weight and the colors are more vibrant in person. It's clear a lot of care went into the stringing. I've worn them twice already and they haven't snagged on anything.
The teardrop shape is really elegant, and you can tell the beading is done carefully by hand. I just wish the earrings were a touch lighter, since they have some weight to them after a few hours of wear.
